This title captures the essence of China’s long-term vision, intertwining military, economic, and technological strategies with cultural influence and data collection to position itself as the world’s leading power by 2049.

China leaders introduced China 2049, a century after the Chinese revolution, aiming to claim itself as the dominant world power.

My opinion: One of the ways to accomplish this is by knowing yourself and thy enemy (Sun Tzu) perhaps done by collecting large amounts of data on them and corrupting their creative youth while developing yours.

A strategy? Develop an app that collects large sums of data and introduce to the enemy’s youth constant irrelevant content, demoting videos including videos on suicide. Make them despise books, waste time creating meaningful content, or consuming irrelevant videos denigrating their own culture and watching these whatever videos instead of developing themselves in a college class or how to fight a real war.

Making them despise books and love scrolling while pursuing an education. Give them soma! Does it sound familiar?

TikTok is a major threat to national security, in my view.

BTW: TikTok is banned in china. Their version of TikTok is called Douyi. It’s really the same app with the same algorithm but with a much different type of content.

Douyi viral videos are about responsible work, family, personal development, the importance of studying, pursuing a college degree… showing the reality of the daily Chinese working class man. (Penin, 2024).

TikTok viral videos are about naked women, semi-nude, sensual dances, suicidal tendencies, drugs, food compulsions, auto mutilation, and depression (Barry, 2021).

In order for a nation to dominate the world, they probably need to dominate it militarily, economically and technologically and flood their enemies with things that don’t matter.

Militarily, the Chinese now train its youth since they are kids (how to use a gun…) and now is ranked at the number army in the world in size with 2 million active personnel and 500 thousand in the reserve. The USA has 462 million active duty army personnel and about 200 thousand in the reserves.

Chinese long term average growth is about 9% a year since 1978. The USA grew 5.58% during this same period.

In terms of technology? Look at the development of the Chinese car battery of the BYD versus Tesla. The efficiency of TikTok algorithm versus Instagram is no match.

In 2049, their children will be ready to go to war. Ours? You decide if the status quo continues. I suspect that the Trump administration will try to partner with the Chinese (through a sale of TikTok) to gain a better understanding of their platform’s algorithm… either willingly or by force.

Since the Chinese won’t support decisions and policies that go against themselves like many Americans do, I suspect that if TikTok is sold, it won’t come with the algorithm.

A war with China is eminent.
