Trusting God’s will makes life a lot less stressful. After 51 years of living, I’ve come to the same undeniable conclusion as Father Cavanaugh in the movie Rudy: “There is a God, and I’m not Him.”
We can’t make a choice if there isn’t one to make. Obsessing over possibilities only leads to increased anxiety. I trust that God knows what’s best. As the Brazilian maxim says, “O que será, será.”
Scripture is clear when it comes to anxious thoughts: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:6–7.
Therefore, if you’re facing an important decision that could significantly impact your life, trust in God’s timing and will. Trying to control the outcome is ultimately pointless.
God calls us to be obedient. Fortunate are those who believe in Him. I definitely do. Do you?
Trust the Lord.
