Ecclesiastes 9:24 states, “Everyone will die someday.” Death comes to all, good and bad. The only logical conclusion I can come up with is that we must live a Godly life. This is essential if we are to see God in the afterlife.
I’m aware of the passage, “We will not all die, but we will all be changed.” It is found in 1 Corinthians 15:51. Dispensationalist Christians define this as the rapture of the church. The scriptures also teach us that Enoch didn’t die along with Elijah, the prophet.
For the remaining of us, I suspect that we will die sooner or later. When a person turns 50, these thoughts start to become real. Our bodies begin to wear and tear. Arthritis, skin and hair changes are just a few signs of these wear and tears.
I’m 51 and a half not 15 and a quarter. In Proverbs 16:31-32, scripture teaches us that, “Gray hair is a crown of glory. It is gained in a righteous life.” I used to have Grey hair but now my hair is all white! Biblically speaking, white hair is synonymous with endurance. As the Lord is my witness, I have endured a lot in this life!
Why am I writing this blog post? I want to share with you that death is inevitable. Living a life for the Lord is the only reasonable way we all should live. “Nobody know the day or the hour,” (Matthew 24:36).
Let’s live our lives extraordinarily for the Lord. Do good. Live with honesty. Respect others. Realize that nothing is forever. We all wear and tear. I would rather wear and tear with the Lord on my side.
How about you?
