“Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops.” — Proverbs 3:9

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” — Matthew 6:21

Tesla vehicles may represent the height of modern innovation, sleek design, cutting-edge technology, and remarkable performance. The Model X, with its stunning interior and futuristic doors, is a masterpiece of engineering. Yet, the starting price is around $69,000, a reminder that beauty often carries a heavy price tag.

Now, let me be clear: I am not opposed to people earning or possessing wealth. Scripture does not condemn wealth itself but warns against the love of money:

“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.” — 1 Timothy 6:10

What matters is the heart behind it. If prosperity leads to greed or neglect of God, then it becomes sin. If success becomes an idol, we have replaced the Creator with creation.

“No one can serve two masters… You cannot serve both God and money.” — Matthew 6:24

I believe we must never “starve” God to feed our appetite for luxury. The tithe and the offering belong to Him, not because God needs them, but because giving shapes our hearts. It reminds us that He comes first, always.

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven.” — Malachi 3:10

If honoring God means we don’t own a Tesla or any other luxury car, so be it. I am at peace with that, and you should be too. Christians live for God, not for man.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2

Luxury cars, large homes, lavish vacations, and fine dining are temporary pleasures. They fade with time, but faith and obedience endure forever.

“The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” — 1 John 2:17

So let us give generously, live humbly, and trust completely, not in wealth, but in the Lord who provides.

“Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share.” — 1 Timothy 6:18

Giving is good, not because it enriches us materially, but because it aligns our hearts with God’s eternal kingdom.
